Hey everyone, im not sure the size of my tank in gallons, but its 2 feet by 1 feet. My corn snake is maybe a year old, i got him last april and he just a baby, im not sure how long the store had him tho. Anyway, he is 31 inches long according to the last shed, (he is shedding now so a little longer now). Im going to be upgrading to a 40 gallon tank and i just wanted to know how soon i should do this. Is he too big for his current tank already?

Hi and Welcome to the forum. Actually measuring the shed isn't accurate because it can stretch up to 30%. A 20L would work for your snake for the rest of it's life, I believe a 20L and 40 are close to the same length but the forty is wider. You can move it up anytime just give it time to settle in and provide lots of hides.

thank you for the welcome and thank you, I did not know that at all, thats really good to know. I kno he is longer than the tank though so i was getting scared it might have been a little small for him.
