If you are, then do not put minnows in the water. Cornsnakes are born able to eat pinkies. It might look to small to *you* to eat them but I assure you its not....
get a pinkie that is ONE DAY old. I put this in caps because many people think pinkies are to large but in fact most pinkies sold in the petstore are a few days old. Day old pinkies are small enough for *any* baby cornsnake to eat no matter how small.
Another thing you can do if in fact the snake is just that tiny, is cut off the head of a day old pinkie or any pinkie. But I would not be putting minnows in the water. It will most likely ignore them anyways.
I didn't know that a snake was too small for a pinkie. Mine is a baby and handles pinkies fine. If you need to, I have heard people post that you can break the pinkies in half when frozen and then defrost and feed it in pieces.
Corn snakes have no interest in minnows. .<--period If he wont' eat a pinky then just keep him in a small container with the pink for a few days, he'll prolly go for it eventualy
well ,,,get a knife ,,,or watever ,,,,cut the mouse in half,,,is that small enough for a snake,,,even though im convinced a pinkie is not too big for a baby corn snake .
i mean a 1 day pinkie is about umm 1inch tall and 1 inch wide
Yes! I am glad you notice this too! The differance between *actual* day old pinkies and the ones normally sold as pinkies in a pet store is quite a bit!!
eeeeeeeeewwww if you left the pinkie in there for a few days it would go aaaaallll stinky!!!! not a nice thing! ugh ok..the thought of it makes me gag.....trust me...its not a nice smell...
maybe your snakes not interested in them? maybe you need to "brain" your pinkies...its gross....but its has to be done ::sigh:: maybe he/she will sniff out the yummy blood and eat it...yum
I agree with XxRachxX....leaving a pinkie anywhere with a snake for a "few days" probably is not the best idea, although I understand what Psomion was saying....small containers overnight work well.
