Hey

Just wondering if anyones corns have ever been constipated? He is regular now but after a slightly weird feed my corn was having great difficulty going for a number 2. When i was checking to see if the mice were defrost, i noticed how thin the skin on their bellys were, and while my two were feeding the pressure pushed the guts out through the skin.( anyone kn ow how the mice are actually killed ??) I didnt know if i was stupid to think that had made him constipated but i noticed he was having trouble and not passing alike his buddy after the usual duration after feeding. I took a closer look and you could see tiny bits of dried hard pooh just stuck there. ( sorry but there isnt really any nice way to put it !!)

Any comments or help would be appreciated.

I don't know anything about constipated snakes, but if the pinkie popped it would be easier to digest. Is it possible that the snake ate some of the substrate?
 
The only snake I ever had that got constipated had a horribly kinked back that prevented him from pooping. Does your corn have access to plenty of water? Is his dish large enough to soak his body in? A lot of reptiles find it easier to poop while their bodies are floating in water, and if they have a bowl big enough will choose to do so.

What kind of substrate is he on? Mary-Beth has a very good point. It's very possible that he ingested some.
 
Plums, I suggest feeding your corn out of it's cage in maybe a large tuppaware crate with some paper towels in the bottom so that it doesn't swallow substrate. Also, try a luk-warm bath for it next time it gets constipated. I hope this was helpful.
 
I use a substrate begining with A - sorry i cant remember what its called, I do feed them out of their viv so this couldnt of happened. He doesnt have a kinky tail either !!

I assume that they are swimmers When you put them in a bath of warm water??? I did think of this but wasnt too sure on if it was the best thing to do as i didnt know.

sorry i used to have a large water bowel for them but they never soaked in it and it just seemed like a waste of space, i give them fresh water everyday
