Too hot for snakes?

My boyfriend is keeping my two corns as well as a friend's king snake over the summer in southern california. Due to a pretty faulty central air system, the upstairs of his house often approaches 90 degrees.
My question is, how hot is too hot for snakes? Is there anything I should do to make sure they're cool enough besides making sure they have full waterbowls? Should I still keep their heating pads on?
Moving them downstairs is out of the question due to a mother who is terrified of snakes and will not allow them in any room but his room :shrugs:

If your heat is thermostatically controlled you should leave it on. It will turn off when the cage gets too hot.

90* is not too hot for a snake as long as it cools down at night. It's above optimum temperature but not to the point of danger.
