Too hot?

Yesterday, I purchased a digital thermometer and when I put it in on the hot side under the hide the reading was 89 degrees! Is that too hot? He seems to like it though. I have two hides and he is always in that one. It is in the middle of the tank and it is half covering the UTH i have. I also am using a 60 watt red bulb 24/7.

A digital strip thermomitor or the electronic one's with an internal/external temp gauge?

I brought a digital thermometer with the wire and probe.

I put it under their hide which is pretty much where the always are....

89 is fine. Close to the high end but still ok. If he gets too hot he'll move to the cool side, and 89 won't give him any burns.

Are you using a thermostat? Alittle high in my opinon but then again the corn snake manuel says its ok... But different snakes will prefer different temps at different times...
