Treating climbing sticks

Rorryy

Anela la la la
My boyfriend just found a really cool stick we would like to use in the viv and I remember reading a thread about how to treat them before putting them in with your snake but I can't find the thread! I remember something about soaking in bleach and allowing to dry for a certain amount of time. If anyone knows please respond so my boyfriend and I can stop arguing about it!

Yes, that's all I do! a little bleach and water and scrub. I read that you could bake then too. I not sure of the temps and time but It's worth a try.
My wood/sticks are not hollow so bleach wash worked for me. But if you thinks that bug might be in the wood baking would kill them. I think??

Good Luck

I did bake mine at 300 for 10 min. But you can decide the temps as long as you know it will kill the bugs inside.

Thanx peeps, I guess I must conceed and not make such a big stink about it. The stick is walnut and probably just fine.
