wrong way
i used to have the problem with this boy of being a lame eater. but his last 2 feedings have been great and real agressive. this is after a fresh shed too so i thought i would post some pictures. he struck and constricted while hanging out up in a plant. then he dropped it and restruck and constricted again then ate. the last meal he actually ate in his one plant after constricting. so lets just same from his lame old eating habit, im really happy with this new habit. thanks for looking

I see he got really close to the aspen while eating... Most people here will advise you to feed in a separate bear-bottom container (or lined w/ newspaper) in order to prevent the snake ingesting the bedding and, therefore, preventing impaction...

that's not a very likely thing to occur really, but better being safe than sorry.
Personally I have snakes that wouldn't eat outside their viv- so I place the mouse on a piece of paper towel. That way the aspen doesn't get anywhere near the mouse

yeah. i observe it all. and if i see the need to ill intervene and pick off aspen. he doesnt like eating outside the viv or i would. and now i finally got him to strike and constrict. so its a good thing hes getting some nut when hes getting bigger.

That is a beautiful snake in such a well made viv. I love it!!

As far as feeding in a separate tub, I do it to avoid having the snake injest the substrate and I don't want my snake getting accustomed to be fed, when I reach in. I don't want it to make the mistake of thinking my hand is food. But hey, you feed whatever way you feel is best and easiest for your you and your snake!!

Cute tree snake ;)

thank you. haha. he enjoyed reading that. made his day. and thanks for all the good comments and looking out for a fellow owner by pointing out the feeding problem. maybe next time he does this ill video it so you can see a tree corn on the prowl and eating.

That's a very pretty snake and I love the vivarium setup :) I also have a corn that won't eat if I take him out of his tank, so I know what that's like :)
