Do snake mites originate from the mice they eat. And I have heard pine chips are toxic to snakes. If the mice are housed with pine chips and a snake eats the mouse with it kill the snake?

No, snake mites do not originate from mice.

Housing mice on pine will not affect the snake (if it eats those mice). Mice housed on pine will, however, be affected by the pine (respiratory problems due to the phenols in the pine).

Maybe not mites but mice can transmit parasites. Most "wild" may carry these parasties. Parasites can be harmful to your snake. Just letting you know.
