Ugh... Regurge

Pyromaniac
Flame, doing very nicely at 42 grams, had his first regurge a day or two ago.
:eatsmiley :puke01:
This is my irresponsible fault, as I was not at my house often enough to monitor temperatures and adjust accordingly. Oh well, no crying over spilled milk. The good news is that I am taking the proper measures to help him recover from his regurge.

Any advice on the subject of regurgitation would be welcome. :)

wait two weeks until trying to feed him again, or at least that was what i was told when my regurged about 4 times in a row when i tried feeding it a week later each time!

it then ate it and was fine after 2 weeks!! never had a problem since!!!

My advice is get Nutribac from Kathy Love. For his first meal, in ten days, feed something at least half as small as what he regurged. What's he eating, a peach fuzzy or double pinks? I might feed one pink, a decent sized one, cut in half, both halves, dunked in Nutribac. Then VERY VERY gradually increase the size back up, always with Nutribac, and I would continue to cut the mice in half (you can do it after they are thawed- I cut right behind the front legs, with a little scissors) for quite a while.

What does nutribac do?

Also, he was eating 8-10 gram fuzzies

Nutribac is probiotics- natural bacteria that reptiles need for digestion. When your snake regurged, he lost a lot of his bacteria. It takes time for it to grow back. Nutribac gives it a head start. Cutting the mouse in half makes it much easier to digest. I learned about that from Kathy Love. You want to really baby his digestive system for a good long time. One regurge is survivable- once he starts regurging chronically, he has a very good chance of dying.
