My corn has quite a bit of dead skin hanging off her, she she didn't manage to shed a few days ago. I have bought some reindeer moss like recommended and I know I need to put some sterile rocks in with it. My question is: Does the moss and stones have to be in a container? Do they have to be wet or damp or something? And what side do I put all this in, the warm or cold or in the middle?

Please help :( and thanks for reading.
 
Oye. I'll say I dont agree with the need to run out and buy moss.

You can just put a damp paper towel in a smaller container with the snake for a while and that normally takes care of the problem.
 
I think...

I think...I should post this here....so..

My Baby corn snake...Has only shed twice..I got him..In January....pretty sure...he shed two days after I got him...And two weeks after that...But since then he hasn't shed...Or even looked cloudy.

Is there something wrong with my baby? x_x :sobstory:

You're better off posting this in a new thread because a lot of times your question won't get answered if you hijack somebody else's...
 
Young corns usually shed about every 30 days. Give or take a week. I wouldn't worry too much.
Jamie: As Joe mentioned, a piece of paper towel, well wetted is usually enough for them. I didn't even put it in a container, merely made a tent out of a double sheet of paper towel and just kept it sprayed with plenty of water. You might want to make sure that you mist the viv or provide a damp paper towel or moist hide for next time to avoid the problem all together. You can also dampen a paper towel and put your snake in it and let them crawl thru it until the rest of the shed comes off.
 
Well, I actually managed to gently pull off all the excess skin, but the advice about the paper towels will be invaluable next time, thanks! :D

Also hector, I think your corn should be fine, during the first 6 months of having mine she had a very irregular shedding pattern but now she's fine!
