Undigested Pinky?

When I came home today, I noticed something funny looking in my tank. I fed my snake 2 small pinkys on 1-30 (Sunday). I made the slits in the skin like I have been doing for him to easily digest the meal. OK, one side of the viv had normal poop and the other looked like a undigested pinky. I didn't look or smell like a regurge at all. It looked different. Could he just of passed this? Has anyone experienced or heard of anything like this?

Should I treat this as a regurge? Never had a problem with this guy....

I've had something like that happen in my collection. I've had snake poops that I can make out the head -vs- torso and see the texture of the coat and markings on the mouseeven facial features with a smidge of imagination!!!! It hasn't happened in a long time but it flipped me out when I saw it for the first time too! It's only happened to me when I've gone up a size in food items from memory....don't worry too much about it.

This is the first time I fed him 2 pinkies. However, I have been feeding him 1 large pinky. This time I fed him 2 small pinkies. I wanted to see if he could handle two pinkies.

When should I feed him again? 5 days to soon?

Thanks! :)

Sounds like he just didn't quite get to digesting the second one before it passed through. I've had some do this with large meals. Doesn't sound like a regurge. I'd feed as normal...perhaps with a smaller meal...pinky and a half? Or just go back to one pinky, but move up in size of pinky a bit. I've never had any problems with the partially digested mice, usually they grow a bit and do well the next time around.

Also, make sure it's warm enough. I've had this also happen if my temps got down too cool after feeding and they didn't digest as quickly as normal.

I'd treat it like a regurge and give it the 10 days. Won't hurt to let the snake go that long. A pinkie is a very easily digested meal~ so IF it actually made it all the way through in tact~ then the snake is low on digestive "stuff"~ but I rather think it was a regurge. I've seen regurges that looked like an intact pinkie had been "cacooned" in a membrane of some kind(??) and ones that look like partially digested pinkies. I've never seen "poop" that looked anything like a pinkie ~(Sometimes when they are on adult mice you will see hair and "chunks" in the poop~ but I don't see that often either)

I could be wrong~ (it's been known to happen!) But if I were you I would treat it like it was a regurge.

Good luck!

Connie has been doing this much longer than I have~ If she has seen partially digested pinkies before~ deffer to her advice~ she has much more expierience behind her!

I've seen chicks feet come out in poop, but that was when i first started feeding chicks. I would try 1 pinkie next time and 2 the time after, and then alternate for 4-5 feeds before going on to 2 pinkies every feed, so s/he has time to adjust.
