unindentified insects in water dish

I have a beautiful snow corn hatchling (couple months old). He had a mite infestation but I am currently treating his enclosure with Provent A Mite. However I have seen a collection of insects in his water dish. These insects seem to be too large to be mites, they are about half and inch long, maybe a little bit smaller. They could quite possible be fruit flies. What can I do to rid my pet of these insects? What are they? Are they harmful to me or my snake? Someone please help. I will put my snake in soap water and make sure that the mites are gone but it is hard to imagine that they can survive the PAM. Thank you very much.

What kind of bedding are you using? I've had a problem with fruit flies with Forest Floor cypress mulch bedding before. They won't harm your snake, but they are annoying. Repti-bark may also have this problem. If you are using these types of beddings, just freeze them first, to kill off the bugs. Any pics of the bugs. That might help with IDing them.

No, I haven't heard anything bad. That what most folks here recommend. :wavey:
