Sorry I have not been around, but things got a little hectic around here lately...Anyhow here's an updated pic of the female lav I got from you at the the end of summer..
Thanks for the update! Those gals are looking good. I'm glad they are doing well for you.
I love seeing pics of "my babies", especially now when I am having frustrations with my breeding plans for this year (car mot x lav is just not happening ).
Nice! It is cool to see the variation among them. My one keeper from that clutch was really dark compared to those two. I wish I had room to keep more every year!
the butter is turning out like her sister(pictured below), lots of yellow. I bred their parents again this year so hopefully i'll get some more high yellow butters from them.
Elaphe_Mo I hope that your car mot x lav project is just getting a late start. How's Flood doing?
Wow, that's neat, Mango does look like her sister only smaller and nicer...My llittle girl is extremley snappy and loves to latch on to just about anything...I guess they all have their quirks...
How big is your's? Mango is 22.5 inches as of this morning and although hatched in August is my largest 2003. SHe is very nice and loves to be handled...until a mouse some into the picture LOL then she strikes and rattles her tail like crazy!
The corns don't mind it here to much as long as they have their heat turned up LOL but they like it good enough that they bred earlier for me this year(last year the parents bred in May rather than this year they bred in early March) anyway Keep the pics of the butter coming(the lavs too they're so cute) i like seeing how the product of my first year of breeding are doing.
my little girl is 24 inches as of tonight when I measured her...She was a big hatchling when I got her from Elaphe_Mo last August...SHe has a very feisty attitude and strikes at anything that moves, after you handle her for a few minutes she'll calm down but when you get her out, you better look out...
I think your's was the biggest one in the clutch her personality sounds like my ghost female LOL she freaks out when you first pick her up but calms down after awhile, i posted a pic of her in strike mode with her head all flattened out, that's how she is 100% of the time when i first take her out but most calm down as they get older... at least she is a good eater
