Upgrading Viv soon - suggestions?

Hi, I had posted sometime ago when my little Snow Corn was new and scaring me with his threatening antics. I have since backed way down on the handling, figuring that we will let him settle down, aclimate and grow a little. I also have noticed other people with the same issue posting, and feel better that I am not alone with this.

I have had him for 2 solid months and I have noticed him peeking out of his hide a bit more and today actually took a trip accross his viv to the cooler end. Also I have upped his feedings to 2 pinkies at a time and the last time he was out eating, marvelled at how much he's grown.

He has chubbed up a bit, from being around 1 cm in diameter to now being maybe nearly twice that at the widest point. And when he stretched out, he nearly reaches the length of my 10 gallon tank.

Now that he has reached this size, I realize that it is time to contemplate upgrading/enlarging his Viv. I know that many people use a 20 gallon long (I only have 1 snake and want a nice "display" set-up rather than the Sterilite Containers). I was wondering if anyone has any experience with any of the special Herp/Reptile habitats, or if I should just stick with a 20 Long with clamped-down screen top?

Sorry but I have no experience with Herb/Reptile habitats but if your snow was a hatchling when you got him. He should be fine if a ten gallon Viv for a year then you could move up to a least a 20L Viv. But for then, it all what you prefer "looks" wise. I would think.

I really have no idea how old he was when I bought him -

As the pet store gave me no information. Wandering through there, I get the impression that they don't feed the snakes all that often, in fact, when I bought him they suggested I wait 10 days to feed him (which I ignored, and followed what I read here and on Kathy's site). Also the stickers on the snake's cages with feeding history have them fed relatively infrequently(there seem to be gaps of 2 weeks and more).

So I don't know if he was a hatchling when I got him, or just sort of "stunted" from lack of adequate feeding.

The picture I posted is a few weeks old and he actually has just sort of "taken off" size-wise since I upped his feedings.

I thought that once he is as long as his aquarium, I should move up?
 
Howdy! It can wait a while, they don't need as much room as we think they might, but since you only have one snake... Why not spoil him and upsize now? 20 long is a good size for a long time. I would love to see a pic when you get it set up. (You have a nice little habitat going on now.) Cheers!
