How do you know when it's time to feed more pinkys? :wavey:
My two cornsnakes are about five to six months old.

You can't really tell by how old they are...its more contingent on their size. When the pinkies start getting too small...and you should know when their girth gets wider than 1.5 the size of the pinky then its getting to be time to move up size of the prey item. Usually before you move up in size of prey item, you can feed them 2 smaller items. i.e. when moving from pinkies to fuzzies, you might take a couple weeks of feeding 2 pinkies and then switch to a single fuzzy. Makes it easier on the transition.

Hope that helps a little.

the easiest way to tell is when you no longer see a lump in the snake after eating a pink, it is time to move to a larger sized food item.

Paul is right on. Small pinks, however, leave a smaller lump than large pinks. Sooo...if the small pinks aren't leaving much of a lump, go to 2 for a few feedings. If they aren't leaving much of a lump, go to large pinks, etc. etc. It's all about reading your snake. I have 2 two month olds that I'm moving to 2 small pinks next week because they are searching 3 days after feed, and a 4-5 month old that is eating 2 smalls now and looking for more. I also have a very early '05 that is eating 1 peach fuzzy. The snake will let you know what it can handle. :wavey:
