Urgent Help Required

Yeah that normal is a real cute little sweety I am no expert but I think its going to turn out to be a real looker later on.

yup, looks like a cute little normal.... awww, aren't they sweet when they are that small !

For your set up, I would suggest more hides and maybe the plant lower so it covers a little bit of the ground for him to be able to choose where to hide and at the right temps for him.

I have put 2 pics to give you ideas for set up.
There are 4 hides for her and she can also hide at the back of the viv.

I hope this helps ;)

yup ok I see, I will get 'it' (dunno sex) some more hides as soon as I can. At the moment though it has taken to climbing all the way to the top of the leves and curling up around them

he/she might be climbing up to hide and not pay attention to the temp, they will prefer privacy
Even a cut up cornflakes box or bulb box will do the trick until you have other hides if you want to and want more of a natural look ;)

yup, great advive he has gone straight into the new hide, I guess none of the other things count as hides because you can still see through them as its a glass viv.

nope hold on he is back up the plant. Do you think he wil be alright up there? I have put a couple more secure hides in and made sure it knows they are there but it keeps going back up the plant. In the viv at the pet shop it didnt have anything to climb, do you think it is just getting to grips with it?

your snake is so cute!

maybe it's too hot? :realhot: Did you move the heat mat to half/half?

I also use small boxes (that my checks came in, light bulbs, etc) as hides. I'll get more 'natural' when Nibblet is bigger, rather than spend the money now and have to replace it. It's a Work In Progress.

Generally, they are "ground" snakes but sometimes (mainly when they are small to hide from predators) they will climb more willingly than adults.

Just give him the hides, let him/she settle.

Don't forget to change the heat mat so it covers half of it so it has a proper cool side otherwise it is hot in most of viv and do not have a proper cool side.

The hides you have, you could just make it so that the plant goes in front of the entrance, mine likes that ;)

After being handled today he has gone straight in his hide and he has been there for a long time so that problem is sorted. However the heat mat is stuck on and cannot be moved, when the petshop guy told me that it was supposed to be the way I had it now I thought it was abit wierd. The heatmat isnt as large as in the picture however. I will try to take it off and put it in its prober place but it may get damaged
