UT Heater Question

This probably has been asked before.
My one corn loves to burrow. I find that the tank bottom over the UT heater is pretty hot. Won't this burn a snake?
From day 1 I've put a piece of reptile carpet over the heated spot (both my snake enclosures), then put in the aspen bedding. I've found he has gotten under the carpet a couple of times. I now flatten the bedding down along the seam and have some tank assessories in the way so he can't get under again.
Tank temp over the area is 85 and 72 at the cool end.

Just afraid it's to hot for him directly on the glass over the heater.

It very well could be. You need an inexpensive thermostat such as the Alife thermostat from The Bean Farm. Oh- you're in Canada. I don't know if they ship there. But anyway, if you get a thermostat, you never have to worry about it. Snakes burrow, and can get under pretty much anything except heavy tile.
