OK...so I went out this morning and got a ZooMed UTH (10-20gal size), a dimmer to control the heat output, and a 6"x8" ceramic tile.
The tile has two sides - a glazed side and an unfinished side with a slightly raised honeycomb structure. Which side do I stick the heater to?
Also, which side should be closest to the bottom of the tank - the heater part or the tile part?
I am not using an aquarium stand with my tank; it sits atop a wood desk. Is this a problem? ZooMed recommends sticking the heater to the side of the tank. What do you think about that?
Thanks!
