UTH help please...

I would think 11x11 would work fine. I wouldn't use 11x17 unless you could run the 17" front to back.

It should cover about one-third of the floor area of the tank. Measure the tank floor, divide by three, then pick the mat size nearest that. Doesn't have to be exact - there just needs to be a larger area unheated than heated.

Thanks for the good advise. I think a 11 x 17 would work well, but I don't think they sell one. The cage is 19" deep...so what do you think of the 6 x 35?

I wouldn't use the long skinny one. You want one "block" of warm area, not a zone that covers the entire length of the viv.

Silly question: If I buy the 11x11...should I place it in the corner at one end, or should I center it at one end?

I've heard great things about these Bean Farm UTHs, and their Alife thermostats. Since they don't sell 11x17, do you think it's worth looking for a 11x17 from another company? Is there any other UTH companies you recommend?
