UTH/under tank questions

Before upgrading to a bigger tank I had my corn elevated by two folded towls, the UTH atop them, and then the tank atop that (per someones suggestion). The tank ended up cracking and though still usable (water could be placed in the tank without leakage, etc) I'd rather not have a repeat.

Since it's sitting atop a dresser at the moment, I don't want to put the UTH directly on the it, but I'm a bit at a loss what can be placed under the tank and if there's maybe something that can also be put between the tank and UTH to avoid the whole cracked glass issue as well (since I'm fairly certain it was simply caused by prolonged contact with the UTH. Or even if it should never have been in direct contact in the first place?).

I'm wondering if anyone has some simple suggestions?

You want to be sure air can flow under the tank so that the UTH doesn't get too hot.

Some UTHs come with rubber "feet" you can stick to the bottom of the tank. If you don't have those you can use the plastic lids from a bottle of Coke or small blocks of wood, placed at the four corners of the tank.

Yeah, that. ^^^^^^^

folded towels allow for flexing which could cause the glass to flex and crack. Little feet that come with the UTH or small wooded blocks at the corners of the tank could help. I have my UTH attached to the tank with aluminum tape (duck tape will not work).
