UTH vs. Flex watt heat tape?

I'm getting ready to setup a 30 gallon slide top and am looking for opinions on using an undertank heater, or heat tape, both on a thermostat, which one lasts longer? which one is safer for our corn? thanks any input would be awesome:cool:

I think either would work just fine. The advantage of FlexWatt is that you can run a strip along the back of the viv, making a heat gradient from front to back. With a UTH, you're pretty much limited to having the warm side on the right or left. I don't know details on the wiring or life of either product. I don't think you can really go wrong though.

I never thought of the heat gradient from front to back. That would be like a rack system with heat tape in the back for heat. but can you use flex watt like you would the uth. Thanks
