UVA Lighting???

when uncontrolled by a thermostat (a thermostat/rheostat can either raise, or lower the output of heat) UTH's get waaaaay too hot to be safely used for reptiles. therefor unless you control them by a thermostat, you are taking a very huge risk concerning the safety of your animals. that's why i vote sticking with lamps. it's not the "prefered" way to heat them, but it's a very good and functional way to heat them. if it works for you, and your snakes are happy and healthy, then go for it!

if you can't afford UTH's and t-stats, that's perfectly okay too - not everyone can!

It'n not that I can't really. I could ask my parents to buy them and they probably would, but I don't like doing that unless it is absolutely necessary. The way I am heating my classic corn is working fine(with lamps..covered), I just need to heat my Snow corn some other way.

Not sure about the pricing of UTH at your petstore, but a single UTH on one side of your tank should be sufficient to heat your snake.
As for the lights, corn snakes are normally nocturnal. UV light has little to no effect on them, infrared it the way to go if you looking for heat.

Thanks for the thread link. The bulbs I am using are very dim (covered)and don't emit to much heat...so maybe my snakes won't burn. But I am trying my best to get the UTHs and thermostats ASAP
