Very first shed!

the bee's knees: all six
i just wanted to share my fascination- my roomates just don't understand how unbelievably cool i find this....

Tolmie just shed for the first time in my care!

and it was SO. COOL.

I just can't get over the fact that they just slither out of their skins like little snake-shaped stockings. whoa.

and, it was a 100% perfect shed- not only did it all come off, there are no breaks in it at all. its just this perfect little inside out tube.

I wanted to take pictures of her beautiful, shiny new self, maybe blind some of you, but the camera seems to have accompanied my best friend and her man-friend on their reading break ski-trip. So i fed her and now she is hiding away all full bellied.

:(

anyways, i just wanted to bore you all with my excitement... :crazy02::dancer:

 That's not boring at all! A good shed is always welcome, especially when hatchlings can change so much

I still can't bring myself to throw away shed skins...It _is_ exciting! I've never got to see any of mine shed, but I saw a Florida King at the serpentarium shed. It goes so fast!

I've got two that are blue right now- one that I've had since November who's only shed once, and one who will be on his third shed for me. I hadn't realized he was blue, and he doesn't come out often (Zee) so when I took him out to feed I was shocked to see how very blue he was! I gave him Maizey's old moist hide (it had fresh moss) because she has a hard time cramming into it any more. He had one incomplete shed for me, so now he is _put_ into the moist hide, I don't just give him the choice. Once there, he usually stays.

I put a moist hide in her cage when I saw her go into blue, but she never went in- instead she went and sat in her waterbowl. I figured thats just as good. :) I have an oddly shaped waterbowl- It's actually a greasecatcher for a george formal grill, so its long and thin.

(this is her just come out of blue)

I put some wet paper towel on half of it and bent a piece of cardboard in half for a little makeshift roof. She apparently LOVED it in there, cause she didn't come out for ages. Plus it looks pretty excellent, with the little canopy over half of the waterbowl, lol.

and i know what you mean about not being able to throw away the sheds. I have hers in a little mason jar above her cage now.

Pics of a shiny new snakey! DUW!

as promised.....PICTURES!
Keep in mind I'm still suffering from new-snake-owner-itis, so I tend to take pictures of EVERYTHING she does. Sorry.

Here is her perfect shed- and the jar it is going in! Kind of gross to keep dead skin around, i guess, but mostly just way cool.

this shiny snakey likes to tie herself up in knots?

she'll weave through my fingers and then just sit there, with this look on her face like "hah, I caught you- just try to get away NOW!"

She's BEAUTIFUL. Can't wait till my okeetee baby sheds to see how bright she gets. I've only had her 2 weeks and she should shed any day now. Congrats on the perfect shed and a beautiful baby.
