I have found where i am going to put my snake and i am going to get all the stuff for him on the saturday before mothers day...maybe...and where i have him is in a corner...good place or not? and i have just a regular desk lamp that will hang above the tank(pretty far)so i can see him but not mess with the temps too much...i did not know if this lighting was okay for a corn or if it would harm him some how...i am hoping to get him soon, most of the convincing is done and i think it may be a yes soon....lets cross our fingers and hope so...also...if the room temp is about 70 then how hot do i set the undertank heater to? thanks tons guys...:D

You mention a lamp and also an UTH (under tank heater). You won't need both. Id scrap the lamp and just stick to the UTH. Corns don't need the light. 70-75 will be fine for the cool end of his viv. 80-85 for the warm side.

Mothers day :( I was looking forward to spending my money on another snake....
