That's quite interesting. I wonder how true to life that 5% statistic is regarding the rest of the wild populations. I also wonder how many cases have gone unnoticed, because we just weren't looking for them.

I think this also helps explain why, sometimes, captive bred female corns who haven't been anywhere near a male will lay clutches of slugs. Is that their bodies attempt at parthenogenesis, or if it's completely unrelated. Inquiring minds (well... mine, anyways) would like to know!
