My office is about 10 minutes from Big Cheese Rodent Factory (http://www.bigcheeserodents.com/), so I am fortunate to be able to place orders for local pick-up. I picked up my first order of 50 pinky mice and 50 hoppers this morning and I must say I was very impressed with the place.
I smelled a very slight animal odor from outside the building right next to the large warehouse doors (which were open), but it was nothing offensive and nothing at all that would make me question my purchase. After all, it would be pretty silly to expect a business with 10 zillion rodents to smell like a flowery spring breeze. :grin01:
The front office was very clean and I smelled no animal odor at all once I stepped inside the building. The employees were fast, courteous, and personable. I spent less than 5 minutes in the building, even after I changed my order and asked for a box with dry ice. My order was packed into a shipping box with enough dry ice and packing material that nothing shifted when I shook it. Even after being kept in the hot car for a few hours, my mice are still fully frozen. They are uniform in size and color and they look very fresh and healthy (as healthy as a dead mouse can look
).
I've seen it with my own eyes and I give Big Cheese an A++. I will continue to order from them and I encourage others to do so. Even their shipping and handling charges seem quite low compared to others I checked out before I realized Big Cheese was in my neighborhood.
Just thought I'd share. I like to see the places that supply my animal food, so I hope this message helps someone else make an informed decision.
