So far i got the local paper on the bottom of the viv and its water bowl and a peice of cork. I want it to look a lil more prettier if you get me.

Can i jsut go get a branch and some stones from the garden and some pine chippins and put them in?

:twoguns:

That probably isn't a good idea :)

Most people bake branches etc before putting them in (or just buy them from shops) because they can contain bacteria and poisons. And pine is not good for snakes, if you are looking for a good substrate, aspen is the way to go :)

And welcome to the forum :D

Thanks lol so if i go get a branch and bake it in the oven for a while it sould be ok and i'll spray it with a mite solution?

Hi Lil-Jay,
Welcome to the forums. We live on the ocean and my wife and I go to the beach and the coast all the time and collect driftwood and rocks for decorating our vivs. We take the items and soak them in a bleach/water mixture for a few hours and then let them dry outside in the sun and it works fine for us. As far as decor, we sometimes buy some fake plants and vines from a local pet store or even better yet, my wife will go to WalMart and go to the craft section and buy flowers and vines for far less then a pet store. I think my wife decorates our vivs very nicely. Here is a link to some of our vivs so you can get some ideas. I hope this helped.
