Viv greenery

OK, back to the original post of viv greenery, I used sterilized silk plants and glued them onto a piece of drift wood to create a tree like appearance. My snakes love it. Here is Mowgli enjoying her tree.

First of all, I'm the one who started with the pot crap. As a joke. I do like to joke around. so if you have a problem, it's with me, thank you.

Second. Thank you BabyMowgli for changing the subject back to the original post. Great looking Viv, How are thought hammocks working out?

My snakes love the hammocks! They are always, always in them! curled up or stretched out, they just seem to thing they are the greatest thing since sliced bread....or frozen mice...lol

ooooooh I didnt even think about those hammocks for snakes!

BTW, that piece of driftwood looks like a dragon (facing right) ! cool!

Am very reluctant to pay $20 for a small piece of dead wood so my snakie is just going to have to make do with his stone caves for a bit LOL. I'm pondering the plants question for my soon to be turtle vivarium.. it's heck trying to find a live plant that'll survive in the lighting and stay small enough (am doing a land shelf). I may have to go hit up the craft stores for fake plants (much cheaper than the pet stores, and as long as they aren't in the water they're ok)..... Nice look viv, I'm jealous!

I got his piece of drift wood for $4.99 at my pet store. I didn't think that was too bad...but I know pet co sells it for a lot more! Ridiculous isn't it?! Thanks for the compliment on the viv! I love to watch Mowgli zoom around up and down her "tree". LOL

I use silk plants in my viv too. They are pretty, come in lots of varieties, not too expensive at a craft shop, and seem to make good hides.

BabyMowgli: snake hammocks! Ive been trying to find some of those for eons. I tried a ferret hammock once but I couldnt get it to hang low enough to be of interest. where did you find those and do the sticky feet hold up to a full grown snake?

I found my hammocks at the local pet store...maybe pet co has them, not sure. Anyway, my snakes are still hatchlings yet and I have never had anything else, so I don't know if they will hold a full size snake. I am guessing the bigger ones hold bigger reptiles. They are made for iguanas and those get pretty big, so maybe you just need to get bigger hammocks as the snake gets bigger. not sure on that one, but they work awesome for hatchlings!

I tried one of those hammocks for a while and my amel never gave it a second look, and yes, Petco or PetSmart carry them.

I use silk plants too. I get them at Michaels (craft store) for 1/10th of what a pet shop will charge you.

Oh yeah, I did experiment with pot once...the experiment lasted 10 years.:roflmao:

I've got a few of the same plants as in the original link, they look great in vivs and the snakes seem to enjoy climbing on them. They are also easy to clean and stand up well to the abuse of being repeatedly crawled over.

Never thought to use ones from Michaels LOL.. was gunna fork out the money for the ones from the pet store hehe. I might still... the have suction cups, I have no other way to attatch them to the tanks.

Together we've just discovered yet another use for duct tape!!!:crazy02:

Actually, I use electrical tape. Small peices behind the leaves and you won't even be able to see them. They stay put pretty well, too.

Tape! Really? I just had a regurge because of tape ~,~ My boys would manage to get stuck to it I think ~,~

Hrm.. maybe I can hot glue them to suction cups! No worries with hot glue, right? LOL Long as its dry its safe?
