Vivarium upgrade

Snake Dave

Schrödinger's cat
Hey everyone

I recently added some cool new things to Salazar's vivarium, so I'd thought I'd show you. Let me know what you think :) It's a 50 gallon tank. I thought I'd add more vines (he had 2 coiled around one another that spanned the tank) to utilise the climbing space, plus it looks better and gives him more cover.

The second picture shows what the vine system looked like without the plants (at least the ones in the vines), and then the first picture's with the plants.

All the best

David

Thanks Luke, he's been in there for about 2 months now, and he's enjoyed the space. :) The side with the bulb is actually the cool side, there's a heat mat hooked up to another thermostat on the other side (where the cave and coconut is, along with the other plants) which is the warm side. So basically, if the ambient room temp drops below 70, that'll come on and boost it up to around 72-73.

Do you have any pictures of salazar, how old is he?

When i get more space i want to get some larger vivariums so my two can have more room and spread out some more. even though they like their cages now, be nice to have extra leg (or no leg?) room.

Yeah I do, I'll show you one (or two) :grin01: now.

Well as long as you have plenty of cover they'll appreciate the extra room. What sizes do you have now?

Here he is, he's about 10 months old now.

awwww, very cute.
I dont know the gallon size, but the ball pythons cage is a little of 3foot long X 2 foot depth X 2 foot high.
Corns is about 2.5 foot long X nealry 2 foot depth X nearly 2 foot high.

Thanks :)

No problem mate, I don't mind.

Your Royal python's tank is fine, but usually 36" long is recommended for an adult Corn, but yours is so close to that. Maybe if you provide lots of climbing space then it'll make up for it. It's up to you though, if you can upgrade, go for it :)

yea, but neither are adults just yet, so it should be ok. i just figured they might like the extra room for having a wander and a play.

The python is about a year old and the corn is about year and a half.
