Was offered a lizard today (darn my finances!)

Hooked for life!!
Well I was at petsmart today just looking around and gazing at their reptile collection (which wasn't too too bad today..). At one point I thought of their bearded dragons was dead..turns out I was thankfully wrong..After some aggresive pushing from the worker the lizard woke up (which to me at least means he could possibly be sick)..anyway..

The lady saw how much I was admiring the reptiles and like my knowledge on them so she told me they had a chinese water dragon they were trying to adopt out..It would be free but not come with any supplies..I took a look at the dragon and he looked like he had been sick but she told me had had an eye infection but was over that..Overall he did look okay..

I called my fiance and told him about it to see what his opinion was. The only thing that turned him away from it was that it would be eating a primary diet of crickets and worms..this did not please Joe at all..lol...So I grabbed a book on water dragons and did some quick reading up..after some quick research it was obviously apparent that I would not be able to afford this little guy..he would need at least a 20 gallon high tank with a misting system (or I could mist twice a day), a water bowl to bathe and drink from, a light that would let the highest temp only go to about 85, live insects to eat with a once a week mix of some veggies and flower petals...as cool as he did look..I just know right now I can't afford it..but it doesn't mean I can't try when I go to FL and get better situated :0)

So yea...that's my story...Just wish I could have taken him home :0(

I have one that someone abandoned that I'm taking care of at the school I help out at and I really wish I could take him too, but like you I can't.The last Water Dragon I had was so sweet, which makes me want another but I can't my Igs hog up all the room. :(
