Water Phobic Snake?

Love and Hisses
This may or may not be a problem, but I've NEVER seen my corn snake approach his water dish, soak in his water dish, or drink water at all. I've even sneaked out in the middle of the night to watch him and see if maybe he drinks then. . .but I still haven't seen him anywhere near his water bowl.

Both of his sheds have gone fine and he eats well and seems healthy.

Is it strange for a snake not to utilize their water supply or am I just being a worrywort?

You are accused of being a worry wort

How do you plead??
I'm one too so take it as a complement.

Drinking for a snake is a very quick process so you're probably just missing it despite your diligence. Trying letting its head dip down to the water dish while your holding it and see if it takes a sip. It may or may not depending on its "mood".

If your snake is healthy and fine, well then it's healthy and fine.

Of my three snakes i have ever only seen one drink, or spend any time near the water bowl. I have heard that a lot of snakes get a lot of thier water from thier food and dont have to drink that often. I have also noticed that my corn seem to be most active at about 5 in the morning, you may just be missing it.

Mine will drink while I hold her if I put her head near the water. It's pretty cool to watch them suck up the water. Their little cheeks puff out a little, and they just kind of slurp it up!

If your snake didn't drink water chances are it would be dead. Just like people, snakes need a regular supply of water. Fear not, he/she is drinking.

In normaly see my snakes drink water the most in the 2 days after the snake eats. So watch out then. Also when my snakes drink, it isn't a very quick process. I normaly see my snakes drinking for about 1 - 2 minuets with out stopping.

Dont Worrie about it. I never see my Ball Python drink but she is in great health.

My little guy must be an exception to the whole water/snake thing. He's addicted to the water! He spends all day in his swimming pool I made him. He even tried to eat his food in the water dish that's in the feeding tank, he just dropped the mouse in the water and jumped in after it  , that didn't work to well though. I honestly think that he thinks he's an Anaconda.....lol:p crazy snake:crazy02:
