on the first day i brought my snake he had tap water and drank it but since then ive given him bottled water as suggested andhe hasnt drank any for three days , am i just worrying to much or does he prefer tap?

It's just more likely that you aren't seeing him drink. They are nocturnal so will most likely drink at night. Also, they really don't need to drink every day. So it's possible he just doesn't need any water right now. I just give my snakes tap water, sometimes filtered tap water but they don't seem to have a preference.

Next time you put him back in the cage hold him so his head is near the water. Mine usually drinks for me. Normally you just don't see them do it though.

Just to repeat, no reason to worry, you were lucky enough to seem him drink but it mostly likely won't be an all the time thing.
