Waterfall for my Corn...

So I just began working on building a waterfall/cool hide for my corn snake. I made the hide out of clay, and plan on putting a clear coat on it, and then I have placed it on a styro-foam base. I will be building a pool of water and waterfall around/connected to the clay hide, and was wondering if this would be a good idea. My thought process for connecting the waterfall and clay hide is the simple fact that the water will help keep the cool hide cool. I will post pictures later to show progress, and to get some feedback. Thank you everyone!

The issue I see is too damp an enclosure. In hatchling racks, the mere presence of a water bowl will cause condensation without enough air flow. Moving water evaporates much more quickly. I'm not saying it can't be done, but air flow is going to have to be strong.

I've seen people post about installing ready-made waterfalls in their tanks and have trouble with Corns pooping in the water. It gets sucked into the pumping mechanism and blocks it up. It then seems impossible to completely clear out and disinfect.

Once it's done post pictures please. My wife is wanting to build a waterfall cave/pool and we're looking for ideas.

I've gotten busier than expected over the past couple of days, but I'm actually changing my design to assist filtering, and also, to allow for a shorter falls. Simply because the pumps readily available to me have to be fully submerged. I will definitely post up pictures once finished, and it'll show the process.

It's a 3 part series, but definitely worth the watch!

I used to have a waterfall in my corn's tank. It was a huge pain! As Bitsy pointed out, it's hard to clean if the snake poops in the water (mine did twice before the waterfall was removed). It wasn't fun to have to disassemble the whole thing just to clean it out. The waterfall in the video you're using as a reference is really pretty though.

Thank you! My setup if fairly simple, so taking it apart and cleaning shouldn't be difficult at all. Additionally, Petey hasn't ever pooped in his water, so hopefully he'll keep it the same for the future!! haha My first attempt at a waterfall/pool failed. Miserably. So, I re-evaluated my approach and stuck with a simpler idea. I have got it assembled, and the grout put on. All I have left to do is a test for water levels and water flow, and then I can silicone the pool/fall. After that, I will decide if I want to paint or just leave it a natural stone color.
Here are pictures of the progress: (I've never attached images before :/)

Oversized images removed.

May I suggest resizing these images before posting?

Thank you Mod Rich Z for removing the images. I asked Susan to do so, and she got an attitude... I appreciate your simple, quick solution. I tried to resize on IMGUR but that didn't work. SO.

Waterfalls are usually not considered a good idea - they are very difficult to keep clean and give out a lot of moisture.

If you want to go with one, you could look into either covering the water with plexiglass so there's no poo/substrate that can get into it, or design it so that it's very easy to clean every week or two.

I'm thinking if I would design an open waterfall, I'd make it so that the reservoir/filter/pump are outside the viv, and I could see the incoming water tube end, and the outgoing water tube end, meaning that everything that touches the water is visible and can be accessed.
