Watering Bowl...

So, I've had RB since Saturday now. I had a fairly large water bowl in his tank.. by that I mean a couple inches high, as I was supposed to get a shallow dish at the reptile shop, but forgot it (d'oh!) and this was the smallest they had.
In those four days, I haven't seen him use the bowl, but assumed he must have been, as there was bits of wood in it
BUT, I just put a shallower bowl in there, on the other side, as I was worried about the humidity, and almost as soon as my hand was out of the tank, he was climbing over his hide and had his head in it.
Was he simply exploring or was the previous bowl too big, and he's gone without for four days?
Sorry for these constant posts, but there was nothing in the manual about how "tall" water bowls should be, and I was worried he might have been not drinking

hehehe

You can bet he was drinking. Corns seem to have a passion for taking nice long drinks right after a fresh water bowl is placed in or fresh water is given. Everytime I wash bowls and replace water at least half of my snakes are drinking out of them. :)

And of course you wouldn't want an 8 inch deep water bowl. But if its a few inches high, thats fine. They can still drink.

Sounds like everything is fine.
Sometimes if I get worried (when my snakes are in shed or something and they refuse to come out of their hides for days) that my snakes aren't drinking, I pick them up and dunk them into their bowls and watch them drink (it's so cute!). Then they run back to their hides. :)
post as many questions as you want! There's nothing wrong with wanting to learn how to best take care of your corn
