Hope everyone is doing ok with the bad storms coming thru the Midwest. It went south of us but we did get some high winds.

With the bad weather I was wondering if anyone has a plan for their snakes in case of an emergency such as a tornado, hurricane, snow storm, power outage, or flood. I had a dream last night, maybe more of a nightmare of running downstairs with a pile of snakes in my hands and then having no idea what to do...... So now I have decided to institute an emergency pet plan. So any suggestions would be great.

I do have a basement and will get some appropriate tubs to house the boys in if we do have to move to cover. I can keep these available on a shelf in the laundry room along with some hides and water bowls. I can keep some bottled water there also. If the power goes out which it probably will I am wondering if I will need to provide some heat and how to do it. I'm sure I am forgetting a ton of things.

I would get tubs if your snakes don't already have them. So like you said you will have temporary housing. You can get shipping heat packs to have on hand just in case power goes out and it is cold.

Yeah, I didn't have time to get anything but the cats to the basement last night, once the sirens started blaring, fortunately the tornado missed us by about half a mile.

While I was hunkered down in the basement I was thinking the same thing. The only issue with tornadoes is the short amount of time you have to get to cover, it's really frustrating when you have a zoo like some of us do.
