katie

do you have a office depot or anything that sells Office stuff. might be there. i got mine at Office depot. they had a few Postal scales.

yea we have office depot's. wow i never would have thought to look there. ill check it out thanks!

np ask for a Postal scale, have it by the boxes and stuff for mailing. since if you ask for a "scale for my snakes" they might look at you odd. believe me i know lol

I've been told that walmart and the like have fairly inexpensive scales, too. though, I ordered mine online.

I got mine for $10 at Radioshack a few years ago, intending on using it for packages, selling on EBay and such.

It's a USB scale, and was on sale at the time.

You know the spindles that CDs and DVDs come in?

I just set the plastic top of one of those upside down on the scale, hit Tare to set the weight at 0, and put the snake in there. The weight shows up as kilograms on my computer monitor.

You can also get a weighing scale that weighs in grams, from most stores with a kitchen department, they are usually used for weighing ingredients for baking etc :)

so i went to the staples by my house and i asked the guy for a corn snake scale lol he told me to wait a minute and that he would go look. and he didnt come back lol:rofl:

I wouldn't come back either... I would not even know what a corn snake scale is. :D
Anyway, did you get ANY scale yet?
I ordered mine on Ebay. It's a pocket scale, tiny, with max weight capacity of 500g.
It took a while to receive it since it came from China, but I finally got it yesterday. I'll take some pictures and post them here. I'm happy w/ it!!!

I ordered mine from the bean farm.. www.beanfarm.com They have lots of interesting stuff there, check out their book selection :) But I have to say, unless you're making a larger order of it, a scale from a local office supply store would probably end up being a lot cheaper, especially after having to pay shipping on the other.

I got a great scale on ebay, an American weigh 1000x.1. As its model number implies it measures up to 1000 grams in one gram point increments. It will accommodate my snakes, plus their feeders, for as long as i need it, and it was about $50 shipped. Shop around!

As promised, here is my new scale. Ebay, $10 shipped!!!

The display is bright blue, but the flash overpowers it.

yes i did get one. i got it from the kitchen section at target. but i think im going to have to return it because the actual acale part is really small and when i put anything on top, like a bowl to hold him, it look like its going to fall off:awcrap: so i think im going to get a larger one i saw. n i like that idea with the cd case set on top of the scale to hold him.
