I'm not really new to the site but I just got my first cornsnake today :D Been searching around and finding information on here. Thanks to all of you!

I have no idea of sex but I bought two. One a friend is getting and one is for me. Since I have a day advantage I am observing personality and activity to choose which I want :D

Here is mine

The one where you can see the head is my friends(I can tell by the markings, it has a orange dot in the middle between the eyes)

Check the markings out(sorry for blur) The one to the right is mine and the curled one is my friends. If you look at the head markings you can see mine has more grey filling than the other.

:D Any names?
I have one in mind, Mr. Knuckles.

What perfectly adorable babies ya have there. I wouldn't want to have to choose between the 2. I'm totally terrible at picking gender-neutral names. Thank you so very much for posting the link. :D

Before I thought it would be easy when my friend handed me her share of the money. But now I kinda feel attached to both but the one seems very jumpy and curls up more than the other. So I believe I'm going with the more adventurous one

How exciting. I really love Okeetee's.
My thermometers are on the outsides of my Viv's, but I sure think it's cute how your snaklet is hanging! lol.

Mine is on the inside too since they come with a suction cup and i don't want a cord between the lid and viv. I liked that too though, mine's a bit too big to do that lol

I'm guessing by what I have researched that you can't figure out sex without probing them?

Also how old do you think they are? They are '10 hatchlings :p

You can kind of "guess" by the tail but probe or popping when they are young are the for sure way, i couldn't tell you how old they are though, maybe 4ish months?

There are videos on You Tube from Kathy Love on popping hatchlings to determine sex (the pet store reptile guy showed me how to on our female snow...who promptly showed her displeasure and musked him)

Would need a clean pic of each of their tails from just in front of the vent to the tip at the side. Popping is best at this age, over 18 inches or so and they get to strong to be popped and must be probed. If I went by looking at these pics I would say both are male, but you can not really tell by looking. Everyone thought my Scarlet was a female until HE bred another female lol.

I wish my camera would get close clean pictures but it's not working out. I looked up videos on how to pop..I will try it some other time.

Pretty simple..like half an inch before the vent and roll towards it with little pressure with your thumb?

I wouldn't wanna do it, i'd take him/her in. I wouldn't wanna risk doing it wrong or hurting them...

Thats a beauty you got there Okeetees are definitely without a doubt my absolute favorite thats what started it for me!:dancer:

I need a name. Something to match color? Along the lines of Mythology or German/English names. Neutral for both gender.

I had Knuckles...like Mr. Knuckles off of Flapjack but I need more of "both" gender name.

Very gentle pressure, not like popping a pimple, more like gently rolling your finger towards the snakes body. It does not take that much pressure. You can take them to a vet, but there are few that are any good at sexing snakes. Would be better to find a local breeder to have them take a look.

I believe he means, to a Vet.

Sorry, i mean i would not want to pop a snake myself, i'd take it to the vet. I would feel safer probing by myself, although, i probly wouldn't do that either lol. A vet knows what they are doing so i'd take them to the vet. Maybe it's not as big of a deal as i think it is, better to be safe than sorry though

Orangey names

I need Orangey names. My friend and I are going to look through them.
So far I have:
Crush, Candycorn, Garfield, Pumpkin, Tang.
Other:
Thing 1, Thing 2, Cob, Rush
(Underline is what I am so far interested in)

Since I have seen many pictures of Okeetee's I figured I would go with an orangey name.
