Western Hognose Snakes

I've been breeding westerns for 15 + years now. I keep mine on aspen shavings and have never had any problems from the substrate. I don't keep mine the same as my corns though. They are in lidless racks without any heat, the room temp is usually 78*.
I use many more ventilation holes than with my corns. Too much humidity is the enemy of westerns. Once they get an U.R.I. it's pretty much over. I've been producing albino's the past 2 seasons, I've noticed that they are slightly more difficult to get started.
I don't offer food to my hatchling westerns for their 1st 3 weeks. This has worked for me for quite some time with very good results. :)

What should the temp gradient be if I supply heat, and what should the relative humidity safely be?

I wouldn't let the hot end over 80*, and include a night time drop. I keep mine close to 50% humidity. :)

you need to post pictures of them on your web site.

I keep trying to get a hold on what my next snake should be, I'm really loving hoggies. Mind you, that changes every month. And no more new snakes! If my python goes back to his owner in a few years, then I'll get a hoggie...
or an MBK...
or a bull snake...
or a carpet...

So, like a 20L tank with a small uth? :)

They are usually sold out in a week to other breeders, I usually only keep a few holdbacks, and occasionally will sell one at a show.
:)
