Check out pages 10 and 11 of this document, if nothing else, where they graphically show how a bunch of different populations are related, and how interrelated they are. Unless I'm reading it wrong, it shows kingsnakes (and other North American colubrids) as being more closely related to corns than asian ratsnakes are. It's a very fascinating read, even if a lot of it is technical gobbledygook. :eek1:

I think this may be the article you're referring to--but they're definitely 100% canine. ;)

There was also a joke/parody article which claimed Chihuahuas were selectively bred rats, Yorkshire terriers were pigeons, etc. Definitely not true, either. :)
