Corn Snake Breeder
I have a question here and I am sorry if this is covered somewhere else. As most of us know Blood reds are known for their diffusion and we breed the blood reds with other genetics to attach that diffusion to other corns and bring out their colors. Lets say you wanna start a project and get a Plasma and a Pewter. Now for reference we will say the grand parent or parent true blood red corns of these two had perfect diffusion and are picture perfect blood red. Now we take the Plasma and pewter and breed them together and we should get blood reds with Het Charcoal and Lavender. Will these Blood red babies have the same deep reds as the grand parents or so? or is there more to the blood red line of corn snakes? Does breeding the diffusion trait with other lines of corn snakes reduce or remove the bright reds we love to see on these blood reds if the genes come back together after being passed from non true blood red to another? On the flip side if we go this route with other specific breeds of snakes like a fire and a Hypo Blood red gets together and the original blood reds where poor examples, will this increase the chance that the blood red offspring will be more brightly colored and look more like the picture perfect blood red? Any ideas, experiences or pictures?
