What do u clean your tank with?

i went to the pet store today to get some more mice and asked if they had any nolvasan. They didn't but what they did have was Wipe Out 1, http://www.zoomed.com/html/wipe_out_1_new.php , which i got. It was like $6 and its a pretty small bottle, I probably won't get it again but it will work until i find some nolvasan which i may order online. I'll have to see how much i actually have to use tomorow when i clean out the cages. Has anyone used this before?

I use this. It works very well. You spray it on and have to wait about 10 to 15 minutes for it to kill all the germs. The only drawback is that it needs rinsed very well. Lots of water.

thank you Penman. I was told you just have to wipe it off but its a good thing you told me to rinse it. How do ya'll rinse out your cages? Do you do it in the bathtub? that seems pretty difficult.

Sorry about all of the questions everyone, but i feel so bad for having my 2 corns for a year and never disinfecting their cages.

Just use a bucket of water and a cloth. No need to drag the tanks/cages to a tub. Just wet the tank/cage with a wet cloth a couple of times and dry very well.

I just use plain regular ol Windex. I only clean the cage when he poo's. I take him and everything else out, throw away the news paper lining, and wash the glass cage with windex. I make sure the ammonia fumes have blown away and put it all back. Anything wrong with Windex?

Ammonia also has a lot of fumes and I don't think it's recommended for cleaning reptile cages just like Pinesol etc.

Hi
I use a product called f50 (not sure whats in it).
I got it from a breeder here in South Africa.
Basically i use a teaspoon of the product in 5litres of water (its very concentrated (non lethal or non toxic )
I clean my cages with that, and have had no issues whatsoever :wavey:
