What do you call yours?

Yearling female Butter:

Parkay: Okay, it's not butter...but it's close enough. =P

- Thought about popcorn names, but Reddenbacher and Act 2 just didn't sound feminine enough. =P

OK...I have a male butter het motley named Parkay and a female butter named Popcorn :p

You readin' my mind or something??? JK

I have an Amel named Rio and an Okeetee is coming that wil be Grande. Not because of the river. It was a coincidence actually. I wanted to name the Okeetee "large" in Latin, but Maga didn't sound very good so I stuck to Spanish. His name might change if it doesn't fit but that's the plan so far.

i chose mitch,. cos i was watching road trip (great film) and thats wot the snake was called on ther, and i liked it :D
BUT my leopard geckos name has a meaning, Marvel, cos he thinks he's a super hero, thinks he can walk upside down and fly (jumps off my hand) so superhero, who makes the superhero comics, Marvel :D:D, lolol

My Amel. is named C.S., short for Christmas Snake (we got her in December), and my husband likes to call her Candy. My new Aztec's name is Maya.

Names? Yeah, there are a few names here.

*sucks in big breath*

Randie, Mary, Rudy, Gwendolyn, Tess, Ashlynn,
Indiana, Nora, Terra, Josie, Elizabeth, Nicolas,
Sebastian, Darius, DeBakey, Mattie, Belle, Denver,
Gracie, Lyle, Chad, Colby, Adson, Finley, Phoenix,
Norm, Sedona, Annie, Tucson, Snow, Josh, Taylor,
Gozer, Zool, Fhqwhgads, Strongbad, Sibbie,
Coop, Victoria, Jenna, Reemer, Squeak, The Cheat,
Maizy, Tiz, Ali, and Diamond.

It'd take too long to type out the way each snake was named, but they all have a reason or meaning.

:p

We have a normal we called fuerte (strong in Spanish). Because when she grabs a finger and constricts there is no doubt about her strength.

PEACE

Male Hypo snow = Tesla Coil; named by my husband. He wanted to name him "Something" Coil b/c a friend's snake is named Mary Coil. So, since he's a science geek, he chose Tesla Coil. I just call him Tesla though.

Female Bloodred = Luci; I was going for a horror theme, so I chose a shortened (and feminized) version of Lucifer. Also, I knew that a vampire in Dracula was named Lucy, so that fit as well.

Male Bloodred = Desi; named merely because if I had a Lucy (albeit spelled Luci) I needed a Desi. My family is full of "I Love Lucy" fans.

Female Ghost = Banshee; pretty self-explainitory. In (Irish?) legends, female ghosts are sometimes called banshees.

Male Hypo = Nitro; I also use ID's to identify my snakes and he and his mate, Glycerine, are C and 4. I got to thinking of explosive themed names from the C4 coincidence and named them after Nitroglycerine.

Female Normal = Glycerine; see above explaination.

Mine is Spitfire. At first I thought it would be cool to have your female snake sound all tough and feirce. Turns out, it completely matches her personality. She is a evil snake.

Here goes:

Anna, Louise, Inca, Noodle, Oodles, Tango, Speedy, Caspar the ghost, Classy the Fluffic, William, Sunshine, Avalanche, Foxtrot, Rumba, Tigger, Nimbu, Lightning (she has the lightning strike from hell - draws blood every time), Crown and Gertie (she's a garter not a corn).

*8 unnamed yearlings and 1 unnamed adult at the moment - working on that*

Reasons for most of the names, but would take too long to tell, and most have been explained before,

Skye

Man, I love reading all the different names people choose for their snakes.

My boyfriend wanted to name my snake "snakie" (he's one imaginative guy) - but after we got the snake I had the song "Ballroom Blitz" stuck in my head, and I was sort of humming it (from the movie Wayne's World, if anyone saw the movie they'd know what I meant) And Blitz sounded kind of cool, and it fit her personality. So Blitz it is.

Boy Ronlina, when you said "Snakie", I thought the next door neighbor kids had taken over you computer! They always want to hold Snakie!! As if C.S. is reallllyyyyy hard to say!

Well I got 7 more since I posted last on this thread last --December 2002!-- so I'll update on my newer snakes!

Orta - Female blizzard, from Panzer Dragon: Orta, an X-box game.

Samus Aran - Female amel stripe, after the character from Metroid, a Nintendo/Gamecube game.

Rio - Female Ice ghost, after the Duran Duran song "Rio".

Havok - Male Lavender, the name of someone's cat, plus his pattern was kinda in havoc.

Mogwai - Male lava, got the name from the Gremlins movie. It was between mogwai or Gizmo and my boyfriend liked "mogwai" better.

Cool site!

Thanks Lyle for posting that website. It's really helped me.

And blito--shame on you. If you like a name you come up with, it doesn't matter if someone else already has it. XD

Well, good job finding a name that fits.

My child names the snakes after flowers because she says "they are as pretty as flowers" So we have
Lantana 0.1 Ball
Daisy 0.1 Ball
Dandelion 1.0 Ball
Rose 0.1 Guyana redtail
Carnation 0.1 Guyana Redtail
Tulip 0.0.1 Normal Corn
Camelia 0.0.1 Smooth Earth

My boys named our first corn "snakie". Then it changed to Godzilla. Then to Yoshi (character from Mario Gamecube games). It was going to change again the other day, but I convinced them it was better to get more snakes to name than to give ours an "identity" crisis :)
