What happens if you don't breed.....

I have a 5 year old corn and I had her sexed at 8 months. My vet said she was female. I have not bred her and I am wondering about eggs. I can't find any information about what happens to her system.
Thanks for your help!!!:)

k well do you mean

when you say what happens to her system do you man lik does she have a period or something? I have a friend whos a breeder and he said they don't have periods I don't think anything happens the eggs just don't get produced and stay dormit and never grow. I could be wrong i'll ask him and get back to you in acouple of weeks if you can wait that long

well usally, no breeding means no eggs. Don't worry, this wouldn't effect their health...hahah

Good luck and Happy Herping!

does that really happen though?
I know for birds that mine laid eggs even though there weren't any males in the house and every so often a few eggs would appear in the food bowl. Thye were obviously infertile and I know snakes are rather different from birds (what an understatement!) but do you know for sure that they won't lay if they have not mated?

An un-mated female corn may lay infertile eggs (slugs).
I have had this happen several times, but it was usually a first-time breeder that laid a second clutch when I didn't want her to.
I did have a 2 yr old that wasn't brumated lay a small clutch of slugs.
And on the other hand, I had a proven breeder (several times over) that simply refused to mate last year and didn't even produce slugs. Go figure!

Thanks Susan, that's what I thought but I was temporarily thrown off by what Simon said. I guess it's one of those random things. I think I have read something about how sometimes the eggs are absorbed back into the body before they are fully developed and laid. I'm not sure though.

Thank you everyone for your replys!! I wasn't sure if her eggs were inside of her - or if she wasn't even creating any.
She is my first corn and I didn't feel really confident about breeding her and I just wanted to make sure she was OK. I couldn't really find any information on "What happens when you don't breed females" - but I found tons of info on how to breed them. Again thanks for all your insights!!!
