My sunglow female started laying eggs today, no major deal, but I noticed the eggs were attached by a "string". They were laid in two's connected by this "string". The first one in the duos seems to be fertile, but the second one in the duo appears to be a small slug. Has this ever happened to anyone else out there and is this something I should be worried about??

Thanking you for your input in advance

On Kathy Love's site she shows pictures of what she calls "String of Pearls" ... both of my younger corns had some eggs that were connected with these strings. I just snipped the little connecting thing so that they would be more easily placed in the egg boxes. I would especially do that if there are obvious slugs attached to obvious good eggs.
