One of my new hatchlings has something like an umbelical sticking out of its cloaca. Its long and veiny. Does anyone know what this is or what I should do with it?

I would think it is an umbelical cord. if so let it fall off on it's own. and if possable move that hatchling to a container with paper towel bedding so it does not get it caught and make it's entrails it's extrails

the umbilical cord falls off in the egg but sometimesif they hatch early the still have it, it will drop off

I have the same situation with a hatchling Cremesickle. I just keep him on paper towels and make sure they are dry. He's 2 weeks old and it's still there.

It it actually sticking out of the vent? That would probably be a prolapse of some sort. The umbilical is further up the belly.
