What morph should I get?

When I go to the Sac reptile convention what should I get? This is what I have now.

1. girl- amel, mother amel het anery, father bloodred
2. girl- ghost, mother ghost, father silver queen ghost
3. boy- anery, mother anery het amel, father snow

I know that with the amel and anery I should get normals, amels, anerys and snows. What would be the best morph to get or even hets to get to get different babies(not just normals, amels or anerys)
There are so many different morphs out there and I am a little lost Thanx!

The only other morphs represented in your current gene pool are bloodred and hypo. The only way to produce anything other than normal, amel, anery or snow in the first generation would be to breed the first girl to a male homo or het for bloodred and the second girl to a male homo or het for hypo.

AKA: Easy way out is if they have one, a hypo bloodred. :bird:

My thinking is for girl #1 is bloodred het amel, or amel het bloodred. That way you'd end up with three different morphs in one clutch.
For girl #2 I would look for a male that is het ghost (hypo & anery)... as far as the male's homo appearance, get your favorite from what is available. By getting a het ghost, your F1 clutch would produce some variety as well as introduce a new gene in the siblings.
For the boy it sounds like a snow would be a good fit, but you could get a stripe or motley snow to get those siblings a good additional het trait.
No matter what you do, I'm sure it'll be a great decision!

My number one rule when buying myself more corns is to buy what I like. :) My feeling is that I don't care how "fancy" a corn might be, I still have to enjoy owning it. :)

Browse the photo gallery and see what catches your eye...lol That's what I do!

I understand the Hypo bloodred, but why the Abbott's Okeetee?
An Abbott's Okeetee is essentially an Okeetee with very thick black borders, usually associated with Lee Abbott's specific line of snakes, which were selectively bred for those borders. Hawkin''s just insane over them. :grin01:

The pet store I work at has a couple of hatchlings for sale. A female amel stripe, and a male hypo that I could buy. They are eating great(I am the one that feeds them so I know) The hypo is $45.50 and the stripe is $52.00. Could I find them cheaper at the reptile convention, do you think? We got them from Dewey and Dewey reptiles so we don't know if they have any hets. Thanx!

From the few reptile shows I've been to, I would say yes. You can haggle a little at shows and the breeders who go there don't want to bring stuff home so usually they go for a little cheaper. I would take you chances at the show, and if it doesn't go well for you there you can always get the ones at the pet store when you get back (if you still want to that is...)

The hypo I wouldn't get for sure, because there's bound to be plenty of them at the show for cheaper, and the offspring you'd get would be normals from the amel and hypo from the ghost. As for the Amel, you'd get more amels and normals. I would agree with Pruddock and say wait for the show, see what they have there, and then if you don't see anything better (or at least cheaper), then go ahead and get the pet store ones if you'd like. However, I think that you will probably find a better match at the show.
