What size to feed now?

Hey I recently unloaded my last mice on him yesterday and need to know what to buy now, id say hes anywhere from 24-28 inches(a rough estimate)
and about 1 inch for diameter in body.
I think what i just ran out of was hoppers and i was feeding him two of them every sunday.
So im guess 50 of the "small mice" on bigcheeserodent would be alright?
Please Insight me if you dont mind, need to order them soon so he has some to eat. and should i change the feeding from every sunday to every 5 days?(hes been on every sunday for about a year and half)

Just looking at the weight and noticed i was feeding him 16-22 grams each time so possibly should i buy a pack of medium and just feed him one each sunday? 18-24g for the mediums

I think this should be in General Husbandry or Feeding Issues (not being rude, just pointing out :))

But I will try to answer your question:

I believe that you move up a prey size once your current size isn't leaving a visible bulge in your snake. It isn't a good idea to start feeding large prey items too soon as this can cause regurgitation if it's too big for the snake. What happened last time you fed him? (ie: was there a bulge?)

As for your question about feeding frequency, feeding should actually be less frequent as they mature, not more. I personally would keep him on once a week, and then start feeding anyway between 7-14 days once he's an adult.

Hope that helped :)

Alright cool, so do you think the "small" would be ideal even though i'd be feeding him less in weight?
Thats what im worried about, i think I should buy medium.

Garr either you cant edit posts or im missing it, I think I will just order the small and feed him extra if needed.

I generally try to buy Red-Eyes meals from somewhere that I can handpick them, another general rule is no more than 1 1/2 the girth of the belly that's how I pick out his meals. Handpicking might be a little time consuming if your buying 15 - 20 at a time like I do but it's worth the time I think.

If two hoppers don't leave a bulge, I'd go straight to the medium adults. I have some hoppers and small adults from Big Cheese, and two hoppers are bigger than a small adult.

Feed once every 7-10 days for an adult.
