I went for a walk in the woods this morning, and snapped a picture of this odd looking situation hanging off a branch.

My best guess is it's an eggsack of some kind, spiders maybe? Not a big 'outdoorsey' type of person so this looks completely alien to me.. never seen anything like it before. It kinda gives me the heebie jeebies to be honest.

It's not a spider's eggsack.
Could be a froghopper (maybe there eggsack is in saliva),
I need more informantion about where it's located at, is it by the river, or
is it on higher ground or close to the ground?
