So. Ruby, Hypo ph Charcoal Lavender Bloodred Stripe, is ready to breed this year.

Possible males in my collection:

Lavender Het hypo bloodred
Hypo Lavender
Platinum (hypo charcoal anery)
Charcoal het amel
Charcoal het amel motley
Poppycorns Coral Snow

I also have access to Bloodstone, a male Bloodred ph charcoal lavender hypo stripe, but I was going to use him with Garnet, who has the same genes.

Ruby does not have any of the het blood *indicators*, but otherwise.... what is everyone's vote?

And if you don't think these males seem good, what should I be looking for? anyone have a phantom plasma stripe project male I can get on breeding loan? :)

Thanks!

I'll get a picture of her when I get home. She is RED. Very very red. From Stephen Wagner!

I think I would go with Bloodstone, as he would probably give you the best shot at proving out some of her hets and his as well. All kinds of cool possibilities there, and a male should easily be able to breed two females.

I vote for Bloodstone as well. The best option would be a male which is homo for as many of the phet genes as possible. Example, a Pewter or Lav Blood.. a Hypo Pewter would be great!

I suppose it's kind of a gamble to go with a poss het snake, but at least all of the possible genes are there.

If you do decide to go with a snake other than Bloodstone I think the best option is:

Lavender het Hypo Bloodred: You'll be able to test out for Lavender and Bloodred, as well as having a high probability of getting Hypos out of the mix!

All the other males only test out for one gene really..

Hypo Lav: you already know the snake is homo hypo, so you're only testing out for Lav. You'll get Hypos instead of normals though..

Platinum: Again, already know the snake is Hypo, Anery doesn't seem to be in the equation, so you're only testing Charcoal with this pairing.

Charcoal het Amel: Only testing out Charcoal
Charcoal het Amel Motley: Same as above

So I guess it depends on what you want.. do you want non normal snakes or do you want to test out as many of the poss het genes as possible?

You can always use Bloodstone with both Ruby and Garnet.

Now you're talking!

I think the first male on your list would be awesome. If anything hatched you would prove out some hets so why not? Get hypo, and he proves het hypo, get lavender and she proves het lavender, etc. Whatever you decide to do keep us posted!

I have a male het for amel, anery, lavender, stripe, blood, charcoal...he would work. ;)

Let me check to see what he is paired up with and if he'll be free for more dates.
