I have neither normals or okeetees, so can't post any pics... but, okeetees are normals that have been selectively bred to have thick black borders around dark red saddles, and bright orange ground color without any white speckling. (Look at the pics at serpenco for the okeetee - Rich's pictured normal however is a very nice looking normal, and it's hard to see the difference from there!)

On the subject of normals and okeetee's , I have a ten month old normal corn snake which I think is "turning into" an okeetee. He's only had two sheds but after each one, a thin black border around the saddles on his back are getting stronger. Does this mean anything?
*thanks*

At the moment my snake looks more like the second picture- the
normal morph. I'll wait for a few more sheds an d see what happens.

I KNOW ITS A BAD PIC

BUT......................

this is my female, unfortunately i lost the male, he was the same colour except slightly less black.....

If you liked how your snake looked before, then why are you so disappointed? I've never understood this sort of thing. X buys a normal or an amel, then goes on line and asks if it's okeetee/miami or candycane, respectively, and then is all disappointed when it turns out the snake is just what they bought it as, a normal or amel. Why should not being able to stick a fancier label on a snake be a cause for disappointment? You liked the way your snake looked before you knew he wasn't a line-bred morph.

If you want an okeetee, miami, or candycane, then buy one... but don't go digging for morph designations that aren't there in the snakes you already have. There's nothing inherantly bad about having a normal cornsnake.

Sorry

Kat- I'm sorry about that, i suppose I just got a bit carried away, I do like normal corn snakes, in fact the onr in the picture a few threads above is my fvourite. I didn't mean to upset anybody. I would buy an okeetee but I'm only 13 and I can't afford it. Sorry if I upset anyone on this forum:(
